Our Favorite Staten Island Attractions,
Hot Spots, and Restaurants
- Snug Harbor Lantern Festival (1000 Richmond Ter, Staten Island, NY): To celebrate the first full moon of the lunar year, all seven acres of
Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden will be peppered with lit-up lanterns and LED installations. With over 1,000 lanterns lighting the way (they’re thought to bring good fortune) come for the show and maybe catch a lucky break while you’re at it. - Ariemma’s Garden Center (1802 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY): Ariemma’s Christmas has the best holiday greenery selection to deck out your home for the holidays – from fresh pine trees to elegant wreaths. Plus, year-round the nursery is packed with a luscious offering of flowers, herbs, veggies, and beautifully curated planters.
- St. George Theatre (35 Hyatt St, Staten Island, NY): Christmas at St. George Theatre is back with its 18th Annual Christmas Show.
The Nutcracker–performed by the Vicky Simegitos Dance Company–will be on show this year. The heartwarming holiday production will be packed with all your favorite festive sing-alongs, like “White Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Let It Snow,” and “Silver Bells,” alongside religious classics such as “O Holy Night” and “Go Tell It on the Mountain.” - Violette’s Cellar (2271 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY): Ring in the New Year at Violette’s with a platinum open bar, gourmet buffet, and live tunes.
Known as Staten Island’s most unique restaurant—come see for yourself why! - The Historic Old Bermuda Inn (Veterans Rd W, Staten Island, NY): A fabulous celebration calls for an equally fabulous venue, and Staten Islanders know that The Historic Old Bermuda Inn is the go-to spot for events—NYE included. If you want to get into the holiday spirit, the classic Victorian-style banquet hall also hosts Sunday Brunches with Santa.
- Winter Wonderland Igloo Experience (1194 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY): It’s that time again—Eggers Ice Cream Parlor is back with its igloo experience. Staten Island’s favorite old-school fixture transforms into an alpine-like retreat, perfect for a novelty date idea, private party, or family fun.
But don’t wait too long to book, or you’ll be left out in the cold. - William H Pouch Scout Camp (1465 Manor Rd, Staten Island, NY): Looking for a farm-fresh Christmas tree? Camp Pouch has got you covered, along with wreaths, roping, and centerpieces galore. And if you’re a Staten Island local, head over to New York City’s only Scout camp on Saturday, December 9th from 3-6 pm for crafts, hot cocoa, s’mores by the campfire, and a special guest – none other than Santa himself.
