Flat rate vs. Hourly Rate

We primarily do flat rates, or fixed rate price quotes. This means that once we get your inventory and location details our quote will not change unless those details change. No matter if we hit traffic, can’t find parking, a sofa won’t fit through a door or any of the other myriad of delays that can happen when moving in NYC.

Most other companies will give you an hourly rate with an estimate for the time it will take to complete the move. But what if they hit the normal delays that happen in any NYC moving situation? Your bill at the end of the job could go way up just because a few slight delays.

**The only time we do hourly rates is when it’s a move within the same building and the items are not transported in a truck.**

Amazing movers! Very professional! My roommate and I used them to move from a 2 BR apartment in Queens to a 2BR apartment in Manhattan. They took good care of everything we needed to move and wrapped it very well in moving blankets. They were early which was fine with us. They were quick once they arrived and everything was finished much quicker than if we had done it ourselves.

The movers themselves gave off a relaxed yet professional vibe which made us feel quite at ease. At the end, we accidentally tipped more than intended and they were professional enough to point that out.

The price they quoted us online was exactly what we were charged! There were no surprises!

Would definitely recommend! Communication with Olivia was prompt, professional and the pricing was fair. Our two movers Nick and Misha arrived to our site early. They were courteous, and moved our items quickly and with care. Moves are very stressful, but Metropolis Moving made this process seamless! Would absolutely repeat business! Thank you!
