1. Convenience: Everything You’ll Ever Need Can Be Found in the City
New York City is a city of convenience. Where else can you get premium steaks at midnight, or manicures before the sun is even up? It is almost a guarantee that you will find everything that you could ever possibly need within a 5-block radius of your apartment. Not only that, NYC’s transportation system is one of the best in the world. Say what you will about the subway system—you know it gets the job done. Furthermore, New York is also an incredibly walkable city, so between that and the city’s public transportation system, you never ever have to worry about getting around.
2. Culture: New York City is Full of Cultures from Around the World
New York’s nightlife is an entire subculture in and of itself. Here’s a fact: New York doesn’t have a bedtime. New York literally has a life at night, running on its own unique internal clock that no other city in the world can seem to replicate, so you will be kept occupied whenever you want. There is also no other city in the world with so much art packed in such a relatively small area. There is truly something for everyone in any part of town, at any time of the day. Art is the city’s lifeblood, so it’s no wonder that artists thrive in NYC.
3. Diversity: You’ll Find All Sorts of People from All Over the World
As America’s melting pot, there’s no city more diverse than NYC. It is said that over 800 languages are spoken in the city with over 36% of its residents hailing from other countries. Such diversity gives birth to variety that you’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. You can go on round-the-world culinary journeys in Manhattan alone. A hop, skip, and a train ride will usually take you somewhere foreign and romantic without having to get your passport stamped. No wonder most New Yorkers think that NYC is the world— IT IS.
4. Landmarks: You’ll be Able to See Classic NYC Landmarks All the Time
New York City has some of the world’s most recognizable landmarks. The Statue of Liberty, Grand Central Station, Empire State Building, Wall Street, Times Square—the list could go on and on. In NYC, it truly is possible to be a tourist in your own city.
5. Opportunity: New York is the City of Dreams
Competition may be rife in New York, but so is opportunity. In NYC, all you really need is a dream and the determination and hard work to realize that dream. In a city this rich and populous, opportunity is everywhere. You just have to grab it when you see it. Dreams are, indeed, made in New York City. Most of them come true, too. If that’s not enough reason to move to NYC, we don’t know what is.
