The Vibe

concourse neighborhood

The Concourse is an authentic representation of what New York City was before Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn became corporate and whitewashed. The neighborhood has soul: its working class residents form an authentic community around their families, friends, and neighbors. The neighborhood also offers real diversity, with most residents being Hispanic, as well as a sizable population of African immigrants. This has resulted in a very livable community that has attracted an influx of newcomers, mostly millennials who have become priced out of Manhattan. When they arrive, they find an authentic, true community that can’t be replicated in Manhattan.
